Mpox breaks! First patient found in Thailand

Hello friends, today we have some breaking news to update you about Mpox or Monkeypox or Monkeypox! Now Thailand has found its first patient. Get ready to find out the news you need to know!

Found! The first Mpox patient in Thailand

On August 21, 2024, the Ministry of Public Health reported that the first suspected patient with Mpox clade I strain was found in Thailand! The patient is a 66-year-old European male who traveled from Africa, an area with a high prevalence. He arrived in Thailand on August 14, 2024. Shortly after arriving, the patient started having a fever on August 15, 2024, so he immediately went for treatment. Now we are waiting for the test results to confirm. Although the results are not yet clear, we have to be careful!

Measures to prevent Mpox in Thailand

The Ministry of Public Health has implemented strict measures for travelers from 6 African countries: Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, and Cote d'Ivoire, which are areas with outbreaks. Travelers from these countries must register through the Thai Health Pass system and undergo strict screening, including temperature measurement, symptom inquiry, and rash observation. If they have symptoms that meet the criteria, they will be immediately quarantined for everyone's safety!
